Practice Policies

Please read the following policies before your first session

Confidentiality

Everything you share in our sessions is strictly confidential. I will not disclose information about you to third parties without your consent, except in the following limited circumstances: where I believe there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or another person, or where I am required by law to do so.

As a UKCP registered therapist, I work in accordance with the UKCP Code of Ethics and adhere to the highest standards of professional practice.

Cancellation Policy

I ask for a minimum of 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full. Late cancellations affect the continuity of your therapy and may prevent another person from accessing support.

Where possible, I will always try to offer a rescheduled appointment within the same week.

Session Boundaries

Punctuality

Sessions begin and end at the agreed time. If you arrive late, the session will still end at the scheduled time. Please try to arrive on time to make the most of your appointment.

Outside of Sessions

I am not able to provide crisis support between sessions. If you are in crisis, please contact the Samaritans (116 123), your GP, or emergency services (999).

Fees & Payment

Payment is due before each session by bank transfer or cash. An invoice can be provided on request for insurance purposes.

If you are using private health insurance (Aviva, AXA PPP, Vitality, or WPA), please ensure you have confirmed your cover with your insurer before your first session. It is your responsibility to manage your insurance authorisation.

Privacy & Data

I hold limited personal information as required for professional practice. This includes contact details and brief notes from our sessions. All data is held securely in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). You have the right to request access to any personal data I hold about you. Please contact me if you have any concerns.

Notes from our sessions are stored securely and are not shared. They are retained for a period of seven years following the end of our work together, as per professional guidance.

Social Media

In order to protect the therapeutic relationship and your confidentiality, I do not accept client connection requests on personal social media platforms. This boundary exists for your benefit as much as my own.

Professional Insurance

I hold professional liability insurance with Howdens. Insurance is current and valid.
